Employee Involvement in European Companies (SE) and European Cooperative Societies (SCE)

A European Company (SE) is a new type of company established by Council Regulation, which allows a company registered in one EU country to operate in all EU countries. The time the type of company was established, personnel representation principles were also agreed upon.

Personnel representation is agreed on separately in a negotiation body

Personnel representation is agreed on separately in a negotiation body. The provisions are very similar to those of the corresponding provisions on international group coopera-tion.

The principle is that employees choose the method of representation in the company’s administration from the models of representation in administration that existed before it became a European Company. If the employees do not make a choice, the company chooses a model.

Representation in administration in a European Company replaces international group cooperation and therefore does not need to be implemented separately in these compa-nies.

The aforementioned matters also pertain to European Cooperative Societies (SCE).
